We all know by now that sugar is just doing nothing good for us, and not only that, it’s actually hurting us. But I love it. I’m struggling with removing sugar from my life, and I’m resisting pretty hard.
I know people who advocate completely abstaining – both for health reasons and because completely avoiding sugar is supposedly likely to help reduce the craving for sugar in general. Instead of taking this plunge, I have recently adopted a new policy. Monday through Saturday I’m going sugar free. Sundays and Holidays are for sugar. I’ll create or indulge in one sugary treat on Sunday, no leftovers throughout the week. They either go in the freezer or they are shared with friends and family who want to join me on my Sugar Sunday project. They can be thrown away if necessary. But they don’t get to go beyond Sunday.
I eat my one treat on Sunday without guilt because I know it’s better than the way I was living before!
Here are my Sugar Sunday recipes… Enjoy!
